5. What particulars must be supplied
by the applicant to register his industrial
design?
The applicant must provide:-
- his name, address and nationality;
- the name and address of the author
(creator) ; and
- the name of the article or set of
articles;
- the class and subclass of the article
according to the Locarno International
Classification of Designs, if available;
- 2 copies of the drawings if they can
be easily photocopied or 8 copies of
the drawings if they may not be easily
photocopied or 8 copies of the photographs
of the article;
- the duly signed ID Form 10 for appointment
of agent;
- the Statement Justifying the Applicant's
Right to an Industrial Design signed
by the author;
- the Statement of Novelty indicating
the features for which novelty is claimed;
- the particulars of disclosure if any
in Malaysia; and
- the priority details i.e. the application
number, the filing date and the country
of the application from which the priority
is claimed.
