5. What particulars must be supplied by the applicant to register his industrial
design?
The applicant must provide:-
  • his name, address and nationality;

  • the name and address of the author (creator) ; and

  • the name of the article or set of articles;

  • the class and subclass of the article according to the Locarno International Classification of Designs, if available;

  • 2 copies of the drawings if they can be easily photocopied or 8 copies of the drawings if they may not be easily photocopied or 8 copies of the photographs of the article;

  • the duly signed ID Form 10 for appointment of agent;

  • the Statement Justifying the Applicant's Right to an Industrial Design signed by the author;
  • the Statement of Novelty indicating the features for which novelty is claimed;

  • the particulars of disclosure if any in Malaysia; and

  • the priority details i.e. the application number, the filing date and the country of the application from which the priority is claimed.
