RamRais & Partners Award for Best Invention in Biotechnology
 

The Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS) was formed in 1986 to promote inventive activities among Malaysians particularly. RamRais & Partners has been supportive of this organisation since its formation. MINDS organised the 17th

International Invention, Innovation, Industrial Design and Technology Exhibition (ITEX 06) from 19 - 21 May 2006 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur. RamRais & Partners donated RM5,000 to constitute a special award designated by MINDS as the RamRais & Partners Award for Best Invention in Biotechnology. This award was given to Wen Siang Tan, Khatijah Yusoff, Swee Tin Ong, Janna Ong Abdullah and Chiew Ling Kho of Universiti Putra Malaysia for their biotechnology invention entitled “Nipahscan tm: A Rapid Screening Test for the Detection of Nipah Virus Infection”.
