4. What marks may not be registered?
A mark will not be registered if it has:-
- the words ìTo counterfeit this is a forgeryî,
ìRegistered Trade Markî, ìRegistered Service
Markî, or any words to the like effect in
any language;
- the words ìBunga Rayaî and the representations
of the hibiscus;
- the words ìPatentî, ìPatentedî, ìBy Royal
Letters Patentî, ìRegisteredî, ìRegistered
Designî and ìCopyrightî;
- the word ìASEANî and the representations
of the ASEAN logotype;
- the words ìRed Crescentî
or ìGeneva Crossî and representations of
the Red Crescent, the Geneva Cross and other
crosses in red, or of the Swiss Federal
in white or silver on a red ground;
- representations of Seri Paduka Baginda
Yang di-Pertuan Agong or a Ruler of a State;
- representations of royal palaces or buildings
owned by the Federal Government or State
Government;
- representations or mottoes of the royal
or imperial arms, crest, armorial bearings
or insignia resembling them;
